Side Tapes / Waist Tapes

PP Side Tapes (Frontal Tapes) are the closure mechanism for tape-type baby diapers. These polypropylene tape strips attach to the diaper’s side panels with permanent adhesive on one end and feature a releasable hook or adhesive tab on the other end that fastens to the front waist patch to secure the diaper on the baby.

The Diaper Closure System

Diaper side tapes are one of the most functionally critical and consumer-visible components of a tape diaper. They must withstand the pulling, twisting, and movement of an active baby without popping open, yet be easy for caregivers to open with one hand for checks and changes. Modern side tapes use elasticated designs that stretch with the baby’s movements, a significant improvement over rigid tapes that can cause red marks or discomfort. The hook tab features micro-hook technology with thousands of tiny hooks per square centimeter for secure, silent engagement with the landing zone.
