Elastic Adhesive

Elastic Attachment Adhesive is a specialized hot melt glue formulated for bonding stretched elastic materials — spandex yarns, elastic ribbons, and elastic films — to nonwoven substrates in diaper leg cuffs, waistbands, and side panels. Its unique properties are high creep resistance (holds elastic under constant tension) and flexibility (doesn’t crack when elastic contracts).

Why Elastic Adhesive Is Different

Standard construction adhesives fail in elastic applications because they creep (slowly stretch) under the continuous tension of stretched elastic, leading to bond failure and product defects. Elastic adhesive hot melt is formulated with higher cohesive strength and a more flexible polymer backbone, allowing it to hold stretched spandex at 2.5-4.0x draft ratios indefinitely without creeping or cracking when the elastic relaxes. It also operates at lower temperatures (130-150 degrees C) to prevent heat damage to sensitive spandex fibers.
