Elastic Ribbon is a flat, tape-like elastic material used in diaper waistbands and adult pull-up pants. Unlike round spandex yarn, elastic ribbon provides a wider elastic zone in a single application, simplifying the production process and creating a more comfortable, uniform stretch across the waist area.
Waistband Elastic Solutions
The elastic ribbon for diapers is typically made from polyurethane or synthetic rubber, available in widths from 3mm to 25mm. It can be applied in a stretched state directly onto the nonwoven waistband during production, then released to create an evenly gathered, comfortable elastic waist. For adult pull-up pants, wider ribbons (15-25mm) provide the stronger elastic force needed for adult-sized products.
