Fluff Pulp is the primary cellulose fiber material used in the absorbent core of disposable hygiene products. Derived from softwood trees through a chemical pulping process, fluff pulp provides the structural matrix that holds SAP particles in place and contributes to liquid wicking and distribution within the core.
The Foundation of Absorbent Cores
In a typical diaper core, fluff pulp makes up 40-60% of the total core weight (the rest being SAP). The fluff fibers create a porous network that rapidly wicks liquid away from the point of insult and distributes it across the core area. Without fluff pulp, SAP particles would gel-block, preventing liquid from reaching unused SAP and drastically reducing total absorption capacity.
