Lamination Backsheet

The Lamination Backsheet is the outermost layer of a disposable diaper or pull-up pant. It consists of a breathable PE film laminated to a nonwoven fabric, combining liquid-proof protection with a soft, cloth-like outer feel. This material is critical for both product performance and consumer perception of quality.

Breathable Yet Waterproof

Modern lamination backsheet uses microporous PE film technology: microscopic pores allow water vapor (sweat) to escape while liquid water and urine are blocked. This breathability reduces diaper rash, improves comfort, and prevents the “ballooning” effect caused by trapped hot air. The nonwoven outer layer provides a soft, fabric-like hand feel that mimics cotton underwear — a key selling point for premium diaper brands.
